Your phone takes up a lot of energy to send and search for wireless signals. When you’re not using your 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or GPS, turn off those settings to conserve battery life.
Turn Off Background Programs
A collection of apps may be running without you realizing it, and this could easily be responsible for your poor battery life. It takes a lot of energy to run applications, so it can improve your battery life if you end the ones that you aren’t using. Go to your task manager or your application settings, and turn off any running apps that you don’t need at the time.

Think about it: If you reduce you screen timeout length from one minute to 30 seconds, you’re already cutting your screen usage in half. There’s no reason that you should have it set at 5 to 10 minutes wait time on a daily basis, so check your display settings to see how much screen time that you’re wasting.
Be Smart About Your Charging Habits
Did you know that how often that you charge your phone can affect its battery life? If you have a nickel-based battery, it’s best to charge your phone when it’s just barely out of power (when your phone starts warning you to charge) instead of when you’re still good with 50 percent or more power left. This is because these types of batteries lose capacity every time that they’re charged.
Lithium ion batteries need to be charged more frequently, but it’s best to check your specific battery and do a search on the best charging practices. In addition, be sure that you’re using a quality wireless charger for optimal results.
Turn Off Vibrations
Sure, vibrations are handy when you’re in a crowded place and don’t want to disturb anyone with your ringtone. However, vibration settings take up more energy than solely using your ringtone as notification. Don’t just turn it off for notifications, either. To extend your battery life, turn off or reduce the amount that your phone vibrates when you swipe at the screen.
