4 Reasons Why You Should Be Commenting on Top Blogs

Who would have thought I’d enjoy a free box of ghee-based sweets in Chennai, India through the power of blog commenting?

When I visited Chennai during my world travels in 2013 my friend – and this blog’s owner – Shameem found me at my hotel. He showed up with the most tasty, fresh and delightful box of Indian sweet treats which me and my wife Kelli enjoyed.

Wanna know what brought us together? Good old blog commenting.

This vastly underused tactic leads to so many sweet blogging benefits. Sweeter than even ghee-based sweet treats.

Let’s check out 4 reasons why you should be commenting on top blogs.

First off though, let’s discuss what blog commenting is *not* about: building links. Many obsessed, struggling or newbie bloggers see blog commenting as a way to build links back to their blogs, but their greedy, fear-filled drivers always backfire.

When you make blog commenting only about you and your needs you will never publish the 2 – 5 paragraph, in-depth, valuable comments that catch the attention of influential bloggers and their readers.

Comment for these 4 reasons.

1: Make Friends

Forget building links for 1 minute.

Blog commenting helped me build a network of close blogging buddies from around the globe.

My friends *made* Blogging From Paradise. Without their support I would be dead in the water. Without their promoting me, featuring me, endorsing me, hiring me, or buying my eBooks and courses I would be lost.

The top bloggers build friend networks. All other bloggers struggle to do it on their own.

By sharing your thoughts through blog commenting you can establish a rabidly loyal friend network that brings you to brilliant heights.

2: Build Your Brand

This one escapes bloggers wrongly obsessed over link-building through commenting.

I appeared on Richard Branson’s blog, Forbes, Entrepreneur and Fox News in part because of comments I published on top blogs.

Any blogger from any background can use this free platform to solidify their brand to catch the eyeballs of top bloggers. Zero barriers to entry here guys; first day or 10 year veteran bloggers can publish a valuable, helpful comment on top niche blogs to establish their brand.

3: Drive Traffic

Blog commenting drives traffic to your blog.

Share your thoughts. Impact readers. Inspire readers to click your link and visit your blog.

Blog commenting is a huge traffic builder for me. If you share your thoughts on top blogs persistently, showing up day after day, you will feel the joy of steadily driving targeted traffic to your blog through commenting.

So many struggling or newbie bloggers complain about having problems driving traffic to their blogs. They bemoan this fact yet ignore the simple, easy to use, incredibility effective strategy of blog commenting for increasing their exposure and boosting their blog traffic.

Visit a top blog in your niche. Post a 3 to 5 paragraph comment on the blog. Repeat for every day this week.

I guarantee that after 2-3 weeks of effective blog commenting you will see a steady increase in blog traffic because you will create a type of blog commenting buzz that inspires readers to click through to your blog.

4: Build Business

Blog commenting built my business like few other marketing strategies.

Here’s why: I could leave my opinion, share my insights, show off my knowledge and build bonds which lead to bigger business for me.

I even co-wrote a best selling eBook that earned tens of thousands of dollars on Amazon through meeting a client via blog commenting.

Comment on top blogs in your niche. Grow your business.
